This is a guide to convenient accommodation areas around Shibuya Station for poster photography.
1. Basic area for poster pilgrimage at Shibuya Station
Shibuya Station is large and easy to get lost in, so it's recommended to start by focusing on these three locations.
All of these locations are on the second basement floor, and by covering these three spots, you can pretty much cover all the support and birthday advertisements at Shibuya Station.
Area B1: A passageway running from the Hikarie underground towards the Miyamasuzaka exit, running alongside the Fukutoshin Line and the Tokyu Toyoko Line.- Area B2: The wide space in front of the ticket gates on the opposite side of the Fukutoshin Line and Tokyu Toyoko Line platforms, as seen from Area B1 above, and towards Miyamasuzaka.
- Area A: It will be displayed in the gaps between large advertisements, directly below the scramble crossing.
2. Accommodation areas convenient for filming
Aim for early morning hours (around 4 AM) or late night hours (around midnight).
You can take photos with plenty of space to avoid other people. Depending on the timing, you might even come across the person themselves taking photos with the poster (I've done this several times).
If you want to go to a work site early in the morning when there are no people around, or if you're aiming for just before the last train, a hotel directly connected to the station is ideal.
